Interview :
#1.: What type of band are you?
Answer: First of all we will like to thank Nepfest for the interview.this stage have been a milestone for our band..thanx again..and coming to the question we call ourself a DEATH metal band….
#2. : Tell us the brief history of your band.
Answer: Hatebook was previously formed in mid 2007 with different band members and used to play pantera and originals stuff…than due to some reasons the band splited….after that it was again reformed in early 2010 with the present band members excluding our manager and prajwal(guitar player) who were added to the band later…at first we also used to play pantera than because of the influenties of the band mem were death metal at that time we decided to try and and formed a diff hatebook…
#3. : Who are your musical and non-musical influences?
Answer: Our influences mostly include death metal bands like cannible corpse,nile,vader,the faceless,suffocation,dying fetus and many others…besides these all the band member have their individual influences.
#4. : What are your dreams and goals?
Answer: We dream of seein our band in the level where our seniors are now…we want the people all over the country to know us and what hatebook is….we want to take nepali death metal music to another level where the people from other country will also know us and what is the level of death metal music in nepal….we want to be known by all the metalheads and make our country proud……\m/
#5. : Who writes the songs, what are they about?
Answer: The song(the riffs and stuff) is written by our guitarist rojan…..he comes out with the idea and theme of the song….than the lyrics is written by navin as the theme told by rojan…than all the band members do their part to create a full song.
#6. : How do you promote your band and shows?
Answer: For the promotion of the band we have our facebook page…and the gigs are also posted their…besides that organizations like NEPFEST and ktmROCKS had done a lot for us in case of supporting the band..so we will again like to thanx NEPFEST and ktmROCKS.
#7. : What do you think about downloading music online?
Answer: What can we say coz u also do the same thing..haha..but in todays time in our view this thing is not a big deal…posting the songs in the internet and lettin people download it helps a band to promote and go further ahead..we think it is ok to download music online…in nepal the only way to listen to songs of foreign artist is to download coz we dont have the facilities of gettin the audio CD..so its ok .
#8. : What’s your outlook on the record industry today?
Answer: The music industry as a whole in nepal is developin day by day…we have new and promising bands comin nowadays with outstanding music and talent…the recordings of the bands are also good..the output of the songs are far better than they used to be in the early days..so we can say that the underground music scene is improvin its quality day by day and one day will be known by the people outside the nation also.
#9. : Tell us a story about a day in your life.
Answer: In our daily life we are students…we hang out at our regular place…theres not a single day i guess when the band mates have not seen each other…its kinda fun…hanging out talking about our music how to improve it and all…haha
#10.: What inspires you to do what you do?
Answer: The support from the audience our frens and our seniors and mainly our love towards death metal inspires us in what we do..
#11.: What advice would you give to fellow bands?
Answer: ROCK hard…play some kiss ass originals and keep metal alive…\m/
#12.: How does music affect you and the world around you?
Answer: For us its like theres not a day without music….we cant imagine our day without some hard stuffs…music is the thing that is always with you whether ur girlfriend is not there but music is always there…so music affects a lott…aa loooottttttttttttttt..
#13.: What are the biggest obstacles for bands?
Answer: For us,hatebook, the biggest obstacle is that we dont have our own practice place..we have to go to ISS(lagan) for jammin…and the other thing that comes in a way are the band equipment..and the main thing that bothers is loadshedding..sometimes we dont have time to jam becoz of our studies and all but when we have time we jam but sometimes even if we have time theres is no electricity…thats a thing that bothers every band of nepal,LOADSHEEDING!!!!
#14.: Tell us about your next shows and why we should be there?
Answer: Recently the shows are not fixed so cant tell when it is gonna be…but if we do have shows we will post it in our band facebook page..and about why should the people be there, u guys to be there not only to support the band or other band but to support the music as a whole…we are trying our level best to what we can do and workin our asses off to create a good,decent song..so guys come to our shows and support us so that we can do more of the thing we are doin now….
